NEC Classic Motor Show 2011 Birmingham UK

One of the last classic motor shows of the season in Great Britain. As a member of the press, we were able to enjoy the warm welcome and support of a well organised press team on our arrival and before the event. The event was well worth the journey, from our base in Hamburg Germany, and we were able to meet the team in the Rover SD1 Club, of which we are a paid member. We are still organising the photos. A slideshow is planned, featuring many cars and some commercial vehicles . We have already started releasing some photos, including the exclusive LE50 MG and a 1961 official Aston Martin powered P1800 Volvo on one of our Facebook pages, via the links below

The show was a great success, with attendance up on the previous year. We personally think you need two days to be able to see everything in a mildly relaxed manner. We needed two days to take photos of circa 95% of the cars, but decided against visiting the motorbike, or Top Gear shows. The queues for the Top Gear show were long and wide. We had a look in the Top Gear area, after the show, and found it quite smoky. The facilities on a whole were well spread out, toilets were clean and modern. The only problem we can think of, was the lighting. Many parts of the show were lit with an orange light, making it difficult to take photos. White lighting appears to have been organised by the stand holders themselves, such as the Bugatti stand. This did cost us time, as we had to take many more photos. All-in-all, a great show and well worth the visit. By the way, avoid booking a room in the Birmingham Best Inn Hotel. This was by far the worst hotel room we have ever booked... loud, like a building site, badly furnished and facilities were awful

The slideshow will include commercial vehicles
