A display of rare, unusual and classic cars, with many more British makes on display, than we have seen before. The annual event was well worth a visit, so make sure you note the 2019 dates. It would be to your advantage to go through the list of British car parts dealers, well in advance, in case they can bring something you need with them. The event appears to be expanding, so could use more buildings, if this continues. We are currently working on a slideshow. New highlights at the Bremen Classic Motorshow
Season opener for the classic car scene
The 16th Bremen Classic Motorshow closed on Sunday 4th February, after three eventful days of the fair. 40,931 visitors came to the Bremen exhibition halls (2017: 45,577). Together with 661 exhibitors from ten nations, they celebrated the start of the 2018 classic and vintage car season.
Highlights of the fair for vehicle culture were the special shows and the new trading platforms. It featured Gran Turismo dream cars, English motorcycles that had competed in the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy road race, TÜV (MOT) certified "Young Classics", classic SUVs and "V8 Survivors", American cars of the 50s and 70s originals.
Crowds were also drawn to the presentations of the roughly 100 motorcycling and two-wheeler clubs as well as the "steel racers": visitors stood in line in front of the racing bikes and time-trial machines from the 30s to the 80s. "This topic also attracts the younger ones to the halls and we will follow this concept in 2019 as well," says Hans Peter Schneider, Managing Director of Messe Bremen & ÖVB-Arena.
The date for the next Bremen Classic Motorshow has already been confirmed. It will take place from Friday, to Sunday, 1st to 3rd February 2019, at the Bremen Exhibition Center. Further information: www.classicmotorshow.de

BREMEN CLASSIC MOTORSHOW 2018 - Press release
Vehicle history comes to life The Bremen Classic Motorshow fires the starting pistol for the 2018 classic car season.
Classic sports coupes, V8 survivors, classic off-roaders, British racing bikes, time trial bikes and racing cycles – there have never been so many special exhibitions and trading platforms as there are at this year's 2018 Bremen Classic Motorshow. The must-see event for fans of classic vehicles brings vehicle history to life every year. Collectors, dealers, hobby mechanics, like-minded people and friends will gather in the eight halls of Messe Bremen from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 February 2018, to celebrate the start of the classic car season. 2017 saw 45,577 visitors come to "talk gas", share restoration tips, find just the right spare part or a whole new vehicle. "Spread across around 47,000 square meters, we hosted over 600 exhibitors from twelve countries. There was something for every newcomer, expert and enthusiast," says Frank Ruge, Project Manager for the Bremen Classic Motorshow. Other attractions at the Bremen Classic Motorshow include the presentation of around 100 automobile and bike clubs, as well as the special exhibitions. For example, in 2018, the special exhibition "Gran Turismo 2+2: Jetset for the Road" will feature ten of the finest sports coupes from the 1950s to the 1970s. Ruge adds, "Dream cars that some fans have only ever seen in collectors' card sets," will be roaring into Hall 5 to join the Aurelia coupe by Lancia. And although they might look from the outside as if they're on their way to the scrapyard, the eight roadworthy classics from the 1950s to the 1970s still have their original paintwork and eight-cylinder V-engines. These "V8 Survivors" have to be seen! These survivors have one thing in common: patina. Another exhibition traces the history of off-road vehicles through six exhibits. The special exhibition in Hall 1 is dedicated to the oldest and most famous motorcycle race in the world: the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT). Twenty English motorcycles from the biggest race years can be seen in the "Best of British – The TT-Legends" exhibition, which even includes original TT-winning bikes. Equally interesting for collectors and newcomers alike is the new special "Blade Racer" exhibition and platform in the foyer of Hall 1. Around 40 rare bicycles from various collectors and dealers reflect the development of design and technology in the 20th century. Visitors looking for a classic might find one from the international dealers in Halls 4, 5 and 6. The "Young Classics", models from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s, will be in their usual spot in Hall 6. The vehicle mart in the car park offers numerous vintage vehicles for sale by private owners. For those on two wheels, you will find deals to suit you in Hall 1. Spare parts and accessories are available in the parts market in Hall 7 as well as in Mobile Hall 8. The Bremen Classic Motorshow runs from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 February 2018 in all halls at Bremen Messe, plus the Hall 8 modular unit. The halls are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A day pass costs 16 Euros. More info at: www.classicmotorshow.de
